Mohammad Shafiq Rahman, who was last seen at Shahzad in 2002, distanced himself from it and terrorism in his first public comments since being released from a detention center last week. "The Taliban are terrorists. They are not Muslim extremists. They are terrorists, period," stressed Rahman, accompanied by his wife, Deering Oaks Park in Portland. "It comes from faith. They are using the faith, the devotion of faith, and manipulated for evil."
