Hurricane Earl hits a weakened Massachusetts with rain and waves:



The Hurricane Earl passed far from the city of New York and Long Island, as well as most of the Northeast, although rain and winds brought on Cape Cod, Nantucket Island and Martha's Vineyard. Vacationers pulled their boats from the water and canceled their reservations over the weekend that it would extend to Labor Day in Nantucket, a tourist island and once a whaling port, with the expectation that it will be hit by the storm.
