Landslide in China leaves 4 dead, 44 missing:


Rescuers searched on Thursday to 44 missing after a landslide crashed on a village in southern China, killing at least four people.

The crews rescued 23 people who had been buried under rubble in the town of Wama, in the southwestern province of Yunnan, after precipitation on Wednesday night, the official Xinhua news agency.

Rescue efforts could be affected in a time when the Central Meteorological Station during heavy rain expected over the weekend.

Xinhua reported Tuesday night that the death toll from floods has risen to 3,185, more than a thousand missing.
