A severe Thunderstorm Resulting in Power Outages In DC:


Washington, D.C, United States - Thousands of DC area residents were without electricity this morning that the storm is moving quickly swept the region. The widespread power outages are ready to make the morning rush hour a nightmare.

The National Weather Service said a strong cold front pushed through the region, causing any damage. Apart from the felled trees and power lines, buildings, roofs were torn off during heavy winds. The area was also flooded by heavy rains.

Trees toppled wires, which in many regions means lights out-of-service.

According to the interruption map Pepco early Monday morning, the district has more than 20,000 customers without power.

Some fallen trees and nearly 100 branches of fallen trees, not just the child, but also cause structural damage to buildings and killed two people.

A tree crushed a minivan in Beltsville, killing a woman 40 years and the wounding of a woman of 60 years, Prince George's County fire spokesman Mark Brady said. A 6 year old boy, walks with his family died when a large portion of a tree fell on him.

The storms that caused the teams and emergency response workers to work tirelessly to restore power had a positive aspect. They cooled a region that has been the experience extreme temperatures during a heat wave nearly two weeks long.
